Fangoria Seeks 13-Minute Horror Shorts
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) -- Blood will be spilled this month in preparation for the "Fangoria Blood Drive" as aspiring horror movie directors can submit movies of less than 13 minutes.

The burgeoning filmmakers will get the chance to have their work showcased in the Koch Vision DVD in conjunction with Fangoria Magazine's Starlog Group. This first-ever search for best mini horror film allows filmmakers of all ages to submit a moive.

The DVD release of the winners will be hosted by "House of 1000 Corpses" director Rob Zombie, and include featurettes from special effects wizard Stan Winston and legendary director Clive Barker. The DVD will be compiled and the features produced by the noted independent video company, Longview Entertainment.

Submissions for the Fangoria Blood Drive will be accepted until Nov. 30, with the winners announced Dec. 31.

"The level of support we have received in the filmmaking community is a testament to the desire of the established artists to nurture the next wave of writers, directors and producers," project creator and executive producer Tim Hinsley says. "We are very pleased at the response we have received so far are looking forward to seeing the films and showcasing them on the world stage."

Michael Rosenberg, president of Koch Vision and Koch Entertainment Distribution, adds, "We are very happy that Fangoria has chosen to partner with Koch on this project. Their involvement has raised the level of the entire event and we hope that this will spawn a series of contests to continually give new talent an outlet to express themselves."
