Heath Ledger's Doctors Investigated by Feds

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Although Heath Ledger's death was deemed the result of an accidental overdose, authorities are investigating if the actor came by these drugs legally.

Feds are probing two doctors who provided Ledger with prescription drugs, reports People.

"We are investigating doctors in Los Angeles and Texas with regard to Ledger's prescriptions," a source tells the magazine.

The doctors being investigated had supplied the actor with painkillers Oxycontin and Vicodin. Toxicology reports determined that those two drugs mixed with anti-anxiety drug Valium, sleep aid Restoril, anti-anxiety medication Xanax and sleep aid Unisom were the cause of Ledger's death.

The Australian actor, 28, was found dead in his Manhattan apartment on Jan. 22 by a masseuse who had an appointment with the Oscar-nominated actor. He was buried in his hometown of Perth, Australia earlier this month.
